Degraded Performance

There is a confirmed issue with the latest Chromium release, version 129, which can cause notifications to not show on devices. Chromium is used to run Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. So users on those browsers may see reduced deliverability. This is not an Aimtell specific issue, rather it comes from Chromium itself. The google team has noted this as a P0 (highest priority). The official issue can be found here: Push subscription is lost after browser restart - https://issues.chromium.org/issues/369224672?pli=1 . The Aimtell team is diligently running checks and ensuring systems are re-assigning or maintaining subscriptions wherever possible. The Aimtell client side script will re-assign new subscriptions upon page visits, which will mitigate engagement reduction for websites that have visitors returning regularly. More updates to come as the Chromium issue progresses.

Google has announced there is an incident affecting Cloud Messaging. This is not an error with Aimtell but will impact delivery to any Chrome web push subscribers and will result in a large reduction in engagement. We will continue to monitor and provide updates. "We're aware of a problem with Cloud Messaging affecting web push notifications. We will provide an update by 8 am PDT detailing when we expect to resolve the problem. Please note that this resolution time is an estimate and may change. Incident began at 2024-05-09 07:10 (all times are US/Pacific). "

The Google team is still working on the fix. Given that most subscribers are under Chrome, we highly advise rescheduling any campaigns to another date as engagement will be severely impacted.
